Good to know: This pen comes with an ink converter (inserted in the pen) and is designed to be used with bottled ink (sold separately). It is not compatible with Ellington Pens' ink cartridges or replacement nibs. Compatible ink cartridge should be 2.6mm.

Barrel is made of Polycarbonate (PC) material while the nib is made of stainless steel.

*Ink Converter can be used to draw ink from an Ink Bottle. However an ink cartridge is not compatible with the transparent pens. Replacement nibs are also not compatible.

Exceeds Expectations

This is the first Ellington fountain pen that I’ve owned (or tried, for that matter) and it’s a wonderful writing experience. The Azure feels good — I like the material and it’s a girthy pen. I think the converter holds more ink than a standard international converter; notwithstanding the amount of ink the Azure puts on paper (which is plentiful with the medium nib), I’m not constantly refilling it. More importantly, this is an outstanding pen to write with — I’m unaware of another pen at this price point that is as pleasurable to use. In short, I’m impressed.

Azure Clarity - Transparent Fountain Pen

Smooth writer

I found these clear pens beautiful and quite a bit thicker to hold than my regular ellington pens. Very comfortable and extremely smooth writing with the fine point. Just a note, it should be clearer in the ads that it uses bottled ink. I use bottled ink for my regular pens but people may not realize they can't use cartridges with these pens.
