Customers praised this ballpoint for "smooth writing" and "excellent grip." Many called it "the best ballpoint I have ever owned" with "terrific ink opacity." Reviewers loved the elegant design, comfortable feel, and well-balanced weight. One noted it performs better for cursive than printing, causing clicks. Minor cap rattling mentioned.
As always your pens are of high quality at a reasonable price. I love the smoothness in writing and the colors are bright and vibrant.
Its tranquil hue adds a touch of brilliance to my notes, and the smooth ink flow makes every stroke a pleasure. Whether I'm jotting down ideas or creating art, this pen's vibrant blue color brings a sense of calm and inspiration. It's more than just a writing tool; it's a creative companion.

I think it's the best ballpoint I have ever owned, and i own about twelve ballpoints, and they are not Bics. I immediately bought a Nautilus for myself. The one I have is extraordinarily comfortable in the hand and well balanced. The opacity of the ink is terrific.
Hello Tinothy,
Thank you so much for your amazing feedback. It truly means a lot to us!
We’re thrilled to hear that you’re enjoying the comfort, balance, and ink quality of your pen, and it’s great to know it stands out among your collection. We’re also excited that you chose to get a Nautilus for yourself—great choice!
We truly appreciate your support and hope you continue to enjoy writing with our pens.
Things I look for in a great pen are smooth, non-skipping, ink flow; beautiful design; a comfortable grip; and great weight. This pen has almost everything you could want and at a reasonable price.
I tried the roller ball version but prefer the ballpoint for it’s grip ring (that prevents ones fingers from slipping too far down the shaft of the pen). The craftsmanship is solid, and the finish is both sturdy and beautiful.
There is some play between the snap-on cap and the body of the pen resulting in a cap that jiggles and rattles when the cap is in place. If and when Ellington ever adjusts this manufacturing tolerance to create a more solid connection, their pen might easily be confused with one of their high-end competitors whose pens are many times more expensive.
Thank you so much for your detailed feedback! ✨ We’re thrilled you’re enjoying the design, grip, and craftsmanship. We’ll definitely pass along your note about the cap fit to our team — suggestions like yours help us make our pens even better! ✒️
Writing instruments are my passion and I decided to give the Nautilius a chance. Excellent presentation and outstanding grip. Great surprise !

I got this for my husband for Christmas and he LOVED it!
I like the feel of the pen and it writes smoothly the problem I have is I print more than I use cursive when writing. The pen is not suited for printing. It clicks and clacks and is unpleasant to use.
Wonderful writing pen. Well balanced, not too heavy and great feel. Been using the pen daily and it has never clogged or skipped. Thank you Ellington Pens.

Writes well with good feeling on the actuation and retraction of the ballpoint. Feels well made and I hope it last long.
I have found the Ellington ballpoint to be an excellent writing instrument. I use it and an Ellington fountain pen as everyday pens. I actually purchased the pens in an effort to improve my hand writing and I am very pleased with the result. The smoothness and excellent "heft" of both pens has increased the legibility and enjoyment of writing in a marked way.
I will happily recommend bot pens to anyone.
