Out of the box, it was easy to install the ink cartridge. The pen comes in a lovely box with 3 ink cartridges (one blue, two black). I selected the medium point and am so pleased with the smoothness of the writing experience also the heft of the pen - the way it feels in your hand while writing. I have used many fountain pens, one high priced pen, and hands down, this is the best fountain pen I’ve ever had. I highly recommend anyone purchase this pen. As beautiful as it is, it’s great for every day tasks and makes the mundane feel special. At this price point, I will be buying more pens as gifts and maybe a fine point version for myself.
