I've taken some time to use the pen before reviewing it. The SQ is sturdy but light enough to be a casual carry pen. I'm impressed with the smooth feel when using the pen. I also like the very positive retaining of the cap. There's no fear of the the pen falling out of the cap in my pocket. The only negative I've noticed is that if I twist the cap in place in the wrong direction it unscrews the nib from the barrel. A potential oops until I get used to press-on, pull-off instead of unscrew. Really like the pen.

Looks great but it didn’t come with ink so i haven't tried it yet. It was a buy one pen and get a fountain for free. Guess I didn’t read the fine print. 😀

the silver quill is an absolute gem!!

I ordered one pen and the Silver Quill Pen came in the package. What can I say about something that is ideally suited for the majority of people to use. I was using gel and rollerball pens but these have converted me back to fountain pens. It looks impressive with its golden colour which is ideal for a pen to plough forward. I would thoroughly recommend these pens.

I ordered the Celestial Tide Matte Fountain Pen and was pleasantly surprised to find that I would also be receiving a free Silver Quill Fountain pen. Both are excellent and write better than my more expensive pens. I will definitely be looking at Ellington for more pens in the future.

The pen is good looking and feels well made for the money. The nib is a little scratchy but it gets better as you use it more.

i got 2 pens on my first order, medium and fine nib, and they write smooth and clean (medium much too bold for my taste) and with next order i will go extra fine with a hangup…you have to use a fountain pen nearly every day or the nib dries out and it takes some degree of wasted time to get it smoothed out. Fountain pens always do this no matter what the brand and its quite annoying. The ink well can also be messy and the cartridges eliminate that but seem to dry and skip more often, otherwise, these are great pens for the price.

Looks good, feels good in the hand and does an excellent job writing.
